Yes, hazardous materials training requirements are still applicable for any employee who performs any function that is regulated by the U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR). The HMR does not offer any exemptions from hazmat training. Individuals who are self-employed and ship hazmat must be properly trained. The employer is responsible for making sure that its "hazmat employees" (as defined in 49 CFR §171.8) receive the proper hazardous materials training as required by 49 CFR §172.702 and §172.704.

Those who transport or are involved with Dangerous Goods under IATA DGR and/or IMDG Code regulations must comply with the guidelines set forth for each respective authority of Dangerous Goods transport.

While third-party solutions like ShipHazmat are designed to simplify and help guide shippers of hazardous materials and dangerous goods through the documentation and packaging process, they are not substitutions for applicable training requirements as required by law.

Yes, ShipHazmat offers a free trial subscription for 5 days that allows shippers, freight forwarders, and consolidators to try ShipHazmat and utilize its powerful regulatory logic engine. At the conclusion of your free trial, you will be able to upgrade to paying subscription if you choose to continue using ShipHazmat.

If your shipment gets rejected by a carrier, please create a support ticket and provide a detailed explanation of the shipment and why the carrier rejected the shipment. One of our friendly customer service representatives will contact you for further assistance in resolving the issue and may help with communicating to the carrier if the shipment was wrongly rejected.

Note: Shippers shipping dangerous goods by air transport must still review applicable State and Operator variations. ShipHazmat does not support any logic behind these variations. Shippers are responsible for ensuring that applicable variations and their respective requirements are met.

ShipHazmat is a PCI DSS compliant solution for accepting and processing online transactions with credit cards. We do not store any credit card information and implement a range of security measures to help ensure that your account data is protected and secure, including any sensitive data specific to your organization. We do not sell or distribute your information to any third parties.

Our friendly customer service team is available during normal business hours to assist customers with any basic regulatory questions that they may have in regards to using ShipHazmat. This does not include hazmat training, classifying dangerous goods, performing security assessments or developing security plans, or auditing.

The Bureau of Dangerous Goods, Ltd. does provide these services separately, and are not included in the ShipHazmat solution.
